Summary
Manzimvula Principal Warren Te Brugge co-founded iSpecify.com, a B2B technology company, to bring the underlying technology to market. As a ‘ Commerce Service Provider’ (CSP), iSpecify.com was designed to build bridges between incompatible enterprise technologies through the Internet—tobecome “The Environment for e-business.” The Company had proprietary, object-oriented technology to provide automated e-business tools. It could enable buyers and sellers to conduct business seamlessly, end-to-end down the value chain, and from disparate and otherwise incompatible locations and systems over the Internet—akin to an enterprise solution, but across disparate systems.
MANZIMVULA’S ROLE & VALUE
Our mandate was to complete a full analysis of the system, to develop a white paper reflecting the technology and its application, and to design a complex financial and business plan sufficient to attract commercialization financing. The presentations were also used to attract high-level business and technology talent.
Our Results
Multiple investor groups reviewed and validated the business model we designed, and feedback was extremely positive.
Like many technology startups, iSpecify.com was ahead of its time, and ultimately could not attract funding—particularly as the dotcom craze was simmering back down to sanity at the time iSpecify.com was seeking financing. Nonetheless, partners were able to leverage their iSpecify.com experience, and transition quickly and effectively into new opportunities and projects.
