Diving Deeper into Manzimvula's Integrative Strategic Approach
Creating a culture and an organization that understands action and the value in focusing combined individual intent on sustaining outcomes is not easy. The leadership and environment needs to one that can in fact can focus creativity to stimulate innovation, while delivering the outcomes intended for cutovers and all stakeholders. This supports longevity and a sustainable business model that is fluid because the culture and leadership can adapt to an ever-changing and more complex operating environment as the organization grows into the future. The Manzimvula® integrative Strategic Approach™ (‘ISA’) is a process and program rooted in Sustainability that takes a systemic view of four ('4') core components, Vision, Guiding Principles, Community and Culture, and how they are understood and perceived across the organization.
Listening with True Intent
There are times in our lives, for each of us that we really thought we were listening and later realized that in fact, listening was actually the last thing we were doing. Sometimes we get caught up in the moment, in the excitement and we forget what we intended to do and accomplish. Listening with true intent is exceptionally hard. Even when we might not actually voice our thoughts, we are still having them. Justifying, criticizing, refuting and reasoning why we know better, out idea is better, or why the audience we are working with is just plain wrong. That audience could be one person a small group or a large group of people.

A journey to the edge of life…
In our lives, as we are growing up and maturing, a vast many of us are taught and learn to take care of others before ourselves. For me I have always looked to take care of the people around me. This came to me as part of my experience growing up in South Africa, where I saw people treated differently, to the extreme. For me this was confusing and stressful, as most of the people closest to me where treated differently, treated badly.
Sustainability Leadership - Building the economic model of tomorrow
Many of us talk about Sustainability and the need to do more. What is shocking to me is how little we are doing. What makes it even more serious is how many of us are sitting on our hands knowing that time is running out for us to be able to preserve our planet and everything we have today for the generations of tomorrow. We took a look at ourselves and made the decision that we need to be an active and contributing part of the change we need by helping to create the education and leadership that we need now. As a result, Manzimvula is part of the team helping Arizona State University to imagine and deliver a new Executive Masters Program in Sustainability Leadership. A program with an objective and more importantly the capability of producing Sustainability Leaders within a 13 month program built on practical hands on experiential and immersive learning.
